Things That Are Important to Me Now

A gang of three woodpeckers is destroying the tree outside my bedroom window. And a snake that has sort of made its presence known in the bushes outside our front door decided to drop the air of mystery and climb the eave-support pole outside our front door to hang out for an afternoon.

In other words, we're pretty much home bound these days. My current teaching job finished up the first week in March, and the week after that my wife's library closed. So we are home all day with our four kids.

I have opinions about what's going on, sure, but I also feel like nothing can stop the idiocy express that is carrying all of our politicians, most of our celebrities, and many of our fellow citizens right now.

I'm getting a lot of reading done. That's good. And dissertation work, some. And I gained some weight the first two weeks of this, but this week I lost it. See, when depression takes away your desire to eat, it's actually HELPFUL. Stick THAT in your pipe and smoke it, suckers!
